The successful candidate for this 16 hr a fortnight position should:
- have a commitment to food supplies being local and to promoting local primary production and manufacturing,
- have experience with or a desire to work with volunteers and build a community organisation,
- have excellent interpersonal and communication skills,
- excellent presentation,
- be comfortable with Information Technology,
- be highly motivated,- available to work every second Friday,
- be physically fit, and hold a current drivers licence.

EcoMart Northern Rivers Co-op Part-time Manager Job Description
1 Sorting Day - 7 hours every second Friday at the Goonellabah Scout Hall, 1hr the day before*
1.1 To oversee the sorting day and see that all runs smoothly.
1.1.1 Be responsible for volunteer roster for the day. Be contact person for volunteers and phone replacements if needed. This includes sorters, delivery and pick up overseer volunteers. (*may have to be the day before).
1.1.2 Be responsible for the key and phone (May be allocated to a volunteer to open the scout hall).
1.1.3 Supervise or carry out checking of incoming goods – (check amounts tally with producer invoice and all are labelled, make notes of missing goods and final payments).
1.1.4 Supervise or carry out weighing, checking and labelling of procured produce.
1.1.5 Supervise or carry out sorting into customer order boxes, cold goods into delivery boxes, fruit and vege boxes, and checking orders are complete.1.1.6 Supervise collection of orders for Lismore pick up and collection of orders by volunteers doing deliveries and overseeing other pick ups.
1.1.7 Be responsible for storing equipment in the store room and locking Scout Hall at the end of the day.
1.2. To be responsible for basic accounting for the sorting day (can train and supervise volunteeers to do this):
1.2.1 Enter any missing goods into the shop database.
1.2.2 Make a list of final payments to be made to producers.
1.2.3 Carry out bank transfers for the producer payments and payment for procured goods purchased by the procured goods officer.
1.2.4 Enter reinbursements for volunteers and deliveries into the shop database.1.2.5 Cash payments to be collected and receipted.
1.2.5 Answer member enquiries emails, and phone members when needed.
2. Promotion of the Co-op - 8 hours - can be at home, preferably during the non-sort week.
2.1 Maintain a database of members listing their producer and shopper activity and last contact.
2.2 Contact new producers and help them to list their products (phone or email).
2.3 Contact shoppers who are not shopping regularly, and encourage them to shop.
2.4 Help with the publicity program and suggest improvements (liaiase with publicity officer).
2.5 Expand the volunteers to include Cashiers, Procured Goods Officer, Market pick up person, and Route managers.
2.6 Send out reminder emails – Shop open (first Sunday or Monday) andshop closing (second Sunday or Monday).
2.7 Set up new pick up points and routes. This involves finding a location and volunteers when there are sufficient new members in an area, and as indicated by the board.
2.8 Keep log of hours worked. We can only pay for 16 hr per fortnight.
3. Report to the board on sorting day procedures and suggest improvements. (can be by email).
4. Additional duties and changes as decided by the Board.
